| Recommendations | Pre-press: Venicelux should be fully acclimatised, in its original wrapping, to pressroom conditions 20-25?C with 50% relative humidity Inks: Fast-drying inks are recommended For optimum results, use inks specially formulated for cast-coated papers For the colours, oxidising inks work best on this non-absorbent surface which has been sealed with an overprint varnish Fountain Solution: Run water at a minimum, with a pH of 4.5-5.5 Offset Printing: Keep the board in small stacks to avoid set-off If necessary, use dry spray powder or add a drier to the inks Reverse: The reverse is matt-coated, ideal for text, solids, halftones, and process work Varnish & Coatings: Though not necessary to enhance its already superior gloss, varnish may be used as a protective coating for areas of heavy ink coverage or handling Cutting: For best results use a newly sharpened blade, with minimum clamp pressure, then back trim for cleaner edges Scoring & Folding: Use a rounded channel score for proper scoring. Always score before folding |
