Paper Café
If you think choosing the right paper for corporate stationery, wedding invitations or craftwork is daunting, the Paper Café will make you think again. The trendy paper showroom is a total paper experience modelled on an international concept that has taken London, Paris and Sydney by storm.
The creative paper merchant, Papersmith & Son brings this exciting European concept to Johannesburg.
"Paper Café is an extension of Papersmith & Son's service to our clients," says Tamsin Haden-Smith, manager of Paper Cafe.
"We have a total offering where clients can simply walk in and familiarise themselves with our papers and enjoy a cappuccino."
The paper emporium is situated at 32 Glenhove Road, Melrose Estate and is open Mondays - Fridays (08h00 - 17h00) and Saturdays (09h00 - 13h00).
The showroom houses a samples archive - a display of examples of jobs printed on Papersmith & Son's papers since the company's inception 16 years ago. This comprehensive paper library also demonstrates how paper is transformed once treated with embossing, foil, spot varnish or printed with metallic inks.
Speciality papers for annual reports, corporate stationery and wedding invitations are also on display.
In addition, Paper Cafe stocks products required for presentations such as mount boards, spray glues, tapes, laser and tracing paper.
"My visits to showrooms of European mills have always left an impression on me and I realised that this was what was missing from the local scene," says Jo Haden-Smith, managing director of Papersmith & Son.
"This venture complements our vision of superior service to our customers," concludes Haden-Smith.
